Emergency Response Supplies Improve Safety at Space for Taos Youth

  • Local Champion: St. James Episcopal Church
  • Date Funded: December 6, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $1,983

Taos’ Common Grounds is a unique free gathering place and resource for local youth featuring art, meditation, study, and social cafe spaces. However, the adult allies supporting this youth-led project recently became aware that their new building lacked the necessary fire and safety equipment to respond to emergencies. So, they contacted LOR for help purchasing basic safety and fire mitigation supplies.

LOR’s support will fund the purchase and installation of a wall-mounted AED unit, first aid kits, and two fire extinguisher cages to prevent equipment tampering, helping to ensure the safety of all Common Grounds visitors for years to come.
