Emergency Aid Strengthens Stability for Monte Vista Residents

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista Valley Church of the Nazarene
  • Date Funded: November 26, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,996

A growing number of Monte Vista families facing financial hardship and temporary crises have been turning to Valley Church of the Nazarene for food, transportation, and medical assistance. When church staff saw that requests were rising beyond what their Community Giving Fund could cover, they reached out to LOR for support.

With LOR’s funding, the church will purchase gas vouchers, emergency food supplies, and grocery gift cards—ensuring vulnerable residents can meet essential needs during times of crisis. This support will serve both church members and the broader community, with particular attention to people experiencing homelessness or housing instability in a neighborhood where many residents struggle to meet basic needs. By easing immediate financial stress, the assistance will help provide greater stability for Monte Vista’s most vulnerable families.
