Commercial Kitchen Opens Doors for Questa Food Entrepreneurs

  • Local Champion: Living Word Ministries
  • Date Funded: October 28, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $17,696

For years, Questa lacked a certified community kitchen, limiting opportunities for local cooks, youth programs, and small food businesses to prepare meals, teach classes, and promote healthy eating or cultural food traditions. Recognizing how this gap constrained local entrepreneurship and community food initiatives, church leaders approached LOR to support their vision of creating a shared commercial kitchen.

With LOR’s funding, Living Word Ministries will purchase and install a commercial oven, hood system, and refrigerator—establishing Questa’s first certified community kitchen. Open daily and free to residents, this welcoming space will empower local food entrepreneurs, provide a venue for cooking classes that preserve traditional recipes, and serve as a hub for community meals and cultural connection through food.
