Bounce Houses Add Active Play Options to Lander Community Events

  • Local Champion: University of Wyoming Fremont County 4H Council
  • Date Funded: March 12, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,747

Many Lander community events offer activities for families, but children often spend more time standing in lines than being physically active. When 4-H leaders noticed this pattern while fulfilling their clubs’ community service requirements at local gatherings, they saw an opportunity to get kids moving. After identifying bounce houses as a solution that would encourage active play while creating leadership opportunities for 4-H youth, a 4-H employee reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help purchase bounce houses of various sizes that can be set up at community events throughout Lander and Fremont County. This equipment not only provides children with fun physical activity options but also gives the five local 4-H clubs meaningful service opportunities as they manage the equipment and help younger children enjoy active play.
