A New Floor Gives Lander Wrestlers (and Dancers and Yogis) a Safe Space to Practice

  • Local Champion: Wind River Dojo
  • Date Funded: April 8, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

Since it opened eight years ago, the Wind River Dojo has been providing free classes in everything from wrestling to kickboxing to more than 100 Lander locals. When extenuating circumstances forced a move to a new building, staff at the Dojo knew to continue to serve Landerites, they would need a springboard floor to prevent injuries and offer expanded classes like self-defense, yoga, and dance. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of the new floor, making it easierĀ  for the 400 wrestlers in Lander to find practice space and creating an option for an expanded set of classes for the rest of the community.
