A Meeting Space Builds Capacity for Cortez Nonprofits

  • Local Champion: Onward! A Legacy Foundation
  • Date Funded: October 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $12,700

Many Cortez nonprofits lack a space to conduct meetings or collaborate with community members and other groups. Staff with Onward! A Legacy Foundation saw this problem among the organizations and projects the foundation supports, so they reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Onward! create a shared workspace with offices, a conference room, and a high-quality printer for marketing materials. The new downtown space will allow community nonprofits and volunteer-led programs to meet and collaborate for free, helping them spend their limited grant funding on what matters: benefitting the community.
