A Drip Irrigation System Preserves Weiser’s Historic Train Depot

  • Local Champion: Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee
  • Date Funded: March 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,088

The historic Weiser Train Depot serves as a popular community gathering space, but its failing water system has forced officials to shut off a main water valve, threatening the survival of gardens and landscaping maintained by local volunteers. One member of the Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee, which owns and operates the depot, recognized the urgent need to address this issue, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee install new water lines to water the gardens surrounding the depot, ensuring the continued beauty of one of Weiser’s most important public spaces.
