A Downtown Campaign Draws Visitors to Libby’s Local Businesses

  • Local Champion: Kootenai Thrift LLC
  • Date Funded: July 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

Libby’s downtown district along Mineral Avenue offers diverse shops and restaurants, but most tourists drive straight through town without knowing these businesses exist. Local residents often aren’t aware of new storefronts either, leading to high business turnover as local entrepreneurs struggle to build sustainable customer bases. One local business owner wanted to create better awareness of downtown’s offerings for both locals and visitors, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Kootenai Thrift launch “Libby Nights,” a monthly downtown event series featuring entertainment, vendor partnerships, and an awareness campaign with highway banners encouraging people to explore Mineral Avenue. The initiative will help local businesses increase foot traffic and sales while giving both residents and tourists more reasons to stop and shop in Libby’s downtown district.
