A Lunchtime Support Group Offers Help to Lander Teens Affected by Others’ Addictions

  • Local Champion: Lander local
  • Date Funded: October 11, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,004

Lander has seen an increase substance abuse issues in recent years, meaning Lander youth affected by the behavior of family members struggling with addiction are also contending with more. To help address this, a local substance abuse counselor wanted to launch a lunchtime Alateen—a peer support group for teens who are struggling with the effects of someone else’s problem drinking—and Lander Valley High School. LOR’s funding will support the cost of providing lunch to participants for the first year.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation
