Bathroom Upgrades Improve Basic Amenities at Lander’s Popular Rodeo Grounds

  • Local Champion: City of Lander, Wyoming
  • Date Funded: February 24, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $29,100

Lander’s rodeo grounds serve as a hub of community activity year-round, hosting daily events at the indoor arena run by the Lander Old Timer’s Rodeo Association and numerous gatherings at the city-owned outdoor arena, including the popular Pioneer Days Rodeo. Despite this regular use, the property’s only bathrooms lack basic amenities—stall doors don’t close properly, there’s no soap or paper towels, and the push-button sinks provide only cold water that stops flowing the moment you let go. When an outreach coordinator noticed these inadequacies while hosting an educational event for local third graders, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help replace stall doors, install new sinks with proper faucets and hot water, add soap dispensers, and improve lighting, ensuring all residents using these facilities have access to privacy and proper sanitation, while also supporting the city’s efforts to attract more events to this community resource.
