Taos Kids Have Access to After-School Activities Thanks to Passenger Van

  • Local Champion: True Kids 1
  • Date Funded: May 16, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $30,000

Transportation is a barrier for many Taos kids who want to access after-school programming, and it’s a problem that many community members have brought forward in the past several years. To address this problem, True Kids 1 has been looking for ways to connect kids to healthy activities, and they reached out to the LOR Foundation with a potential solution: Purchasing a 14-seat passenger van that will be used in collaboration with other youth-serving organizations. Funding from LOR will help the organization buy the vehicle, which will serve students from ages 6 to 20 all across Taos County—particularly kids in hard-to-reach areas.
