Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency Service Coordinator Program
The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Self-Sufficiency Service Coordinator Program offers grants up to $816,750 for Public and Indian Housing authorities to hire coordinators who connect residents with education, employment, and health services.

Farm to School Grant Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture offers up to $500,000 for projects that bring local foods into Child Nutrition Programs and connect students to the source of their food through community gardens, field trips, and education.
Deadline: December 5

Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Grant
Verizon is offering $10,000 to small business owners over 18. To be eligible, applicants must complete two courses through the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready platform.
Deadline: December 10

Temper of the Times Foundation
The foundation offers between $5,000 and $15,000 to nonprofits for advertising and media projects that promote wildland ecosystem conservation and restoration.
Deadline: December 15

Technical Assistance and Training Grant Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development provides $35 million to nonprofits for assistance that helps rural communities address water and waste challenges, improve systems, and prepare loan or grant applications.

Start.Pivot.Grow
Micro Grants provide $2,500 each quarter to U.S.businesses operating at least two years with more than $50,000 in annual revenue and two or fewer employees. Funds may support rent, inventory, marketing, software, or professional development.

The Pollination Project
Grants provide $500 microgrants for grassroots, volunteer-led initiatives and up to $1,000 for projects advancing plant-based and community-driven food systems worldwide.

Amber Grant
WomensNet awards at least $30,000 monthly to women-owned businesses, with additional startup, business category, and three $25,000 year-end grants. One application qualifies applicants for all grant opportunities.

CARA Local Drug Crises Grants
The Centers for Disease Control offers grants enhance existing or former Drug-Free Communities’ efforts to reduce youth opioid, methamphetamine, and prescription drug misuse.

Drug-Free Communities Support Program
The Centers for Disease Control funds new community coalitions to prevent youth substance use by building collaboration among local sectors and strengthening community-led prevention efforts.

The Elinor Patterson Baker Foundation
Grants ranging from $2,500 to $150,000 provide general operating support to nonprofits focused on animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and habitat preservation.

Women’s Shelter Grant
The American Kennel Club Humane Fund provides financial assistance to U.S. domestic abuse shelters that accept pets or partner with shelters to house victims’ pets.

The Esther and Harold Mertz Foundation

Grants starting at $100,000 advance culture, education, health, and social services, with a focus on expanding opportunity and improving quality of life for underserved and rural populations.

The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation
Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000 for nonprofits supporting youth education and individuals impacted by breast cancer through programs that expand learning opportunities, improve technology access, and fund awareness and research initiatives.

State-Specific Funding Opportunities

Enbridge Sponorships and Donations
Eligible State(s): Idaho
Enbridge Gas provides up to $10,000 to Idaho organizations and tribal communities for projects that improve quality of life through safety, cultural vibrancy, sustainability, and environmental initiatives.

Chobani Community Impact Fund
Eligible State(s): Idaho
The fund provides between $5,000 and $20,000 to nonprofits and government entities addressing food and nutrition insecurity in Twin Falls and Jerome counties in Idaho.

Western SARE Farmer/Rancher Grants
Eligible State(s): Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico
Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education offers up to $35,000 for agricultural producers working with technical advisors on research and education projects that improve production, marketing, and environmental sustainability.
Deadline: November 20

Western SARE Professional Development Program
Eligible State(s): Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico
These Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education grants provide up to $100,000 for three-year projects training agricultural professionals to share sustainable agriculture practices through education, skill-building, and outreach.

Rural Community Investment Fund
Eligible State(s): Idaho
The Idaho Department of Commerce provides grants to cities, counties, and tribes in Idaho for projects that strengthen rural economies through workforce growth and improved infrastructure.
Deadline: December 15

Idaho Gem Grant
Eligible State(s): Idaho
The Idaho Department of Commerce provides up to $50,000 to rural communities for economic development projects that create or retain jobs. Eligible activities include infrastructure improvements, remediation of blight, and asset development.
Deadline: December 15

Resilient Colorado Grant
Eligible State(s): Colorado
The Colorado Attorney General’s office funds programs addressing opioid use prevention and response statewide. Focus areas include youth well-being, treatment access, workforce expansion, recovery systems, family support, and peer leadership.
Deadline: December 18

James E. Cook Nature’s Classroom Grant
Eligible state(s): Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming
The Western National Parks Association offers up to $2,000 for in-park experiences, or $750 for classroom and virtual experiences, connecting underrepresented K–12 students with national parks.
Deadline: December 31

Housing Grants
Eligible State(s): Idaho
The Lightfoot Foundation provides annual grants to Idaho nonprofits supporting homeless shelters and housing programs. Funds may be used for operational expenses and family housing assistance.
Deadline: January 12

The Buell Foundation
Eligible State(s): Colorado
The Buell Foundation provides funding for programs supporting early childhood education and development for children up to age five.
Deadline: January 15, 2026

Community Engagement Grants
Eligible State(s): Montana
The Montana Public Health Institute Community Engagement Grants provide up to $1,500 per award to local and tribal health departments for community engagement activities such as meetings, outreach, and public health events. Funds are typically paid directly to vendors.
Deadline: June 30, 2026

Community Grants and Mini Grants
Eligible State(s): Wyoming
The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative provides grants to organizations improving breast health access in Wyoming through education, screening, diagnostics, patient navigation, and survivor support. Mini grants of $2,500 or less are available for smaller projects.
Deadline: Applications for mini grants are accepted year around but funding is limited and may be exhausted by the end of the year.

Resources

The Lisa Libraries
The Lisa Libraries donate children’s books to nonprofits in low-income or underserved areas that need to build or expand libraries or provide take-home books for children. Recipients cover only shipping and handling costs.

Apprenticeship USA
The U.S. Department of Labor connects job seekers, employers, and educators with registered apprenticeship opportunities and resources across industries, helping employers build programs and individuals gain career training.

Telehealth for Nutrition Care and Services
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provides healthcare professionals with guidance, tools, and strategies to deliver personalized nutrition care via video, phone, or digital platforms.

Community Health Corps Montana
AmeriCorps invites applications from organizations interested in serving as host sites for members working to improve mental health, address substance use, prevent chronic disease, and strengthen social determinants of health.
