Dan Groves

Technology Director

As LOR’s technology director, Dan ensures the foundation’s digital ecosystem enables LOR to be responsive to both internal and external needs. Dan has spent his IT career helping organizations leverage their technology to improve business processes and continues that work at LOR, where he looks for solutions that allow LOR to efficiently address rural needs. He approaches the work with a desire to really understand challenges, ensuring the right solution—not just the newest technology—is chosen.

Dan brings more than 25 years of IT operations experience to the foundation. His experience leading both large and small teams has allowed him to remain hands-on while still providing strategic direction. He has worked mainly in highly regulated industries, such as banking, debt collections, and securities, where functionality and security must work hand-in-hand, and he has been featured in technology publications like Insight’s Tech Journal. When he’s not behind a keyboard, Dan volunteers with Watch D.O.G.S., an organization dedicated to providing positive male role models for students and helping to reduce bullying.

Dan grew up overseas in a military family. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Columbia College and recently completed his MBA from Purdue Global. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, chauffeuring his kids between activities, and watching plenty of soccer.

My Kind of Livable

Spending the day with my wife and kids, enjoying good food, and watching my kids take in everything around them.
