Communications Manager

The communications manager serves as LOR’s lead storyteller and manages the communications work for a portfolio of LOR communities, helping to support local solutions and promote LOR’s work through stories, social media, advertising, events, and other creative outreach. The ideal candidate is an inquisitive, strategic thinker who has experience across platforms and can craft a compelling narrative, create an engaging Facebook reel, and quickly produce lively, accurate ad copy. The role requires an authentic connection to the Mountain West, an understanding of life in rural communities, and exceptional people and project management skills.

Photo Ambassador

LOR photo ambassadors focus their lenses on the people, places, and events that make their communities special. Contracted on a rolling basis in the communities where LOR works (Cortez, Lander, Libby, Monte Vista, Questa, Taos, and Weiser), photo ambassadors are local photographers interested in developing their multimedia skills, sharing images with a new audience, and getting paid to do it. The part-time role—ambassadors work on short-term contracts—is ideal for photographers who are passionate about their communities, eager to highlight rural life from a local perspective, and looking to improve their craft.
